Traceability matters when client work, professional judgement or sensitive information is involved. The system should help a reviewer move toward the source, not make the source disappear behind a confident paragraph.

Is a knowledge system just a chatbot over files?
No. Files may be an input, but a useful knowledge system also needs ownership, access rules, source links, an update rhythm and a clear use in the workflow.
What should be included first?
Start with the information that repeatedly helps people prepare, check or deliver work: current templates, decisions, approved sources, client context and the rules that shape an output.
Who keeps it current?
The business needs a named owner for each important source. Without ownership, a system quickly becomes another uncertain archive.
